UPCIDS Local-Regional Studies Network

The University of the Philippines Center for Integrative and Developemnt Studies – Local Regional Studies Network (LRSN) aims to create a network of research programs engaging in local and regional areas of study, involving scholars and research centers based in the different UP System constituent universities.

SEASREP Foundation for Project Community of Local Affiliates Studying the Past (CLASP)

Project CLASP aims to develop an interactive map and directory of local historical and heritage societies throughout the Philippines. This digital resource will allow users to click on a particular locality to view associations and organizations engaged in historical and heritage work. CVSC will be among the featured centers on this platform, showcasing its ongoing contributions to heritage documentation, cultural mapping, and community-based research.

Center for Science and Society (CSS) of Columbia University for “Restoring/Restorying: Sugbo Seed Archive”

The Central Visayas Studies Center (CVSC) of the University of the Philippines Cebu has forged a meaningful collaboration with the Center for Science and Society (CSS) of Columbia University for a project titled Restoring/Restorying: Sugbo Seed Archive. This initiative bridges research, art, and community knowledge to combat food insecurity and climate change by revitalizing traditional food systems in Cebu, Philippines.

The thrust of the Urban Studies Program is to bring to the fore the critical issues around urbanization and urban humanity in the policy discourses for the country. It brings together studies on cities especially with acute vulnerabilities such as coastal cities across the Philippines that directly respond to emerging concerns on urbanism with a specific lens on inclusive and just resilience framework.
