Daisy A. Romeo is an Assistant Professor at the University of the\u00a0Philippines Cebu. She earned her PhD in Mathematics from Ateneo de Manila University in 2021. She previously served as the Coordinator for the Mathematics Program at UP Cebu. Her published research focuses on the\u00a0mathematical aspects of quantization, particularly the\u00a0Weyl and coherent states quantization of Time of Arrival functions\u00a0for both free and confined particles. Her current academic interests continue to center on advanced topics in quantization and their theoretical foundations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lawas holds dual master’s degrees in Environmental Science (MSES) at the University of the Philippines Visayas Cebu College in 2007 and Geo-information Science & Earth Observation at the University of Twente, ITC, the Netherlands in 2016. She has been contributing to academia as a University Researcher<\/strong> since 2004, demonstrating a remarkable commitment to advancing knowledge and innovation in her field.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Crina Escabarte Ta\u00f1ongon is a Communication faculty member at the College of Communication, Art, and Design, University of the Philippines Cebu. She holds a PhD in Development Communication from the University of the Philippines Los Ba\u00f1os and regularly teaches Organizational Communication, Communication Theory, and Research Design. Drawing from the Constitutive Communication of Organizations (CCO) framework, her research explores how organizations are communicatively constructed, focusing on how discourses shape and sustain the identities, practices, and legitimacy of social enterprises, civil society and people\u2019s organizations, and agribusiness groups.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her work interrogates how these organizations frame development, peacebuilding, and sustainability in response to complex institutional and socio-environmental challenges. Her current research is grounded in interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches, bringing together communication, environmental science, education and communication technologies, and development practice. These include a Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP) study on watershed protection and water use in the Argao-Dalaguete reserve; a digital archiving project on food (in)security that examines how organizations construct alternative food systems; and a cross-institutional initiative documenting loss and damage in Cebu\u2019s island communities facing climate change. These projects are situated within a broader inquiry into how communication constitutes organizational life and enables sustainability action in complex socio-ecological contexts.<\/p>\n

Dr. Ta\u00f1ongon regularly presents her work in local, national, and international academic conferences, and has published in Management Communication Quarterly, Encyclopedia of Information Science and Technology, Philippine Journal of Development Communication, among others.<\/p>\n

Dr. Belinda F. Espiritu is a faculty member of the College of Communication, Art, & Design of UP Cebu, teaching both GE and major courses in the BA Communication and Master of Arts in Communication and Media Programs. She served as the Coordinator of the Mass Communication Program from 2010 to 2015 and as the Director of the UP Cebu Central Visayas Studies Center from 2018-2020. As the Director of CVSC for three years, she wrote a discussion paper on sustainable tourism in Cebu and Bohol which was published by the UP Center for Integrative and Development Studies. She was also able to complete a research project on ecotourism in the Philippines during the COVID-19 pandemic funded by the National Research Council of the Philippines. She is currently the College Secretary of the College of Communication, Art, & Design of UP Cebu. Recently, she had the honor of being the Issue Editor of the Philippine Communication Society Review 2024.
